My son ordered the egg and sausage scramble and it came extremely dry and over cooked (stuck together, dry, brown, crispy) We sent it back and although we received a better cooked scramble, it still did not taste very good.My meal was a taco/enchilada/rice combo. The beef in the enchilada was not seasoned and lacked flavor. The rice had a weird flavor. I don't know how a Mexican restaurant can mess up rice but it was horrible. Nothing was seasoned well and our meals were overall below par. Mexican is our favorite restaurants and while they differ I quality, they usually all taste about the same. I have never had a Mexican meal I didn't like until this restaurant. The food just didn't taste right. It was awful. I would have sent our food back immediately and asked for a refund (I knew all meals would taste like this) but we were so hungry and had a long drive home (Plus our meal was pretty cheap.) I will never return to this restaurant it was so bad we found ourselves looking around the place and watching other people's reaction, but not seeing anything. I then went to check reviews and noticed there were pretty good ones. So.. I don't know if it was the cook on our shift (lunch) or if people in North Vernon just think this is what Mexican food taste like...but it was terrible. My son ate a small portion of his meal and wanted the rest in a doggie bag...I feel bad for taking him there, to be honest. It will never happen again.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner today for my husband. On Christmas Eve. Place was so empty do to the day and time. But we had a wonderful time.
I had a small rock that somehow got into my refried beans. Almost broke a crown. The waitress was very nice, and told the manager. He smiled from across the room and told her to tell us the meal was free. I paid for my meal. I just wanted someone to investigate how gravel got into the food. The management couldn't care less. Nice wait staff, but piss poor management. The food wasn't great either, but that's a separate issue.
My fiancé found a piece of shrimp in his chicken & steak fajita, luckily he has no seafood allergies! I do not understand how this could happen though. You would think a restaurant would prepare such dishes separate, with the threat of contaminating chicken with shrimp & vice-versa... I am hoping it was just a mistake & not what my mind is thinking actually happened!
Ordered the pollo loco and it came with a lovely array of frozen veggies. .really??? You use a bag of frozen vegetables...maybe they should specify that on the menu..other than that everything else was ok
Let me start by saying I am giving a 2 star review because I rarely give 5 stars and give 4 for stars for some of the best service and experience and save 5 star for beyond exceptional. With that said I feel I need to review this restaurant from my experience.
This is the first time visiting this restaurant. It appeared neat, clean, and had a very asthetic appeal to it. It looked much like any other nice family Mexican restaurant we might visit. Our server was very nice, I had no problem with her.
